Kid Art

These days, a lot of my creative energy gets channeled into making "kid" art with my son. He loves drawing, painting, gluing... stickers, markers, paper...  I think all kids do. There are so many great blogs out there with fun ideas. You can also find excellent info on why creating art (especially messy art!) is really great for toddlers. So even though I may not have tons of time for my "own" art, we get to make "our" art together!

Here's a shot of Alistair doing a little Jackson Pollack number with squeeze bottles and Drawing Dough.

Double Scissors

OK, here they are!  I made 2 "Scissors" paintings, and couldn't decide which I liked better.  I debated which was "better" and which deserved to go in my shop. Well, sometimes the answer is both. (Sometimes the answer is neither!)  Today I'm going with BOTH. I like them. They have very different personalities.  See folks, I believe making art is allowing beauty to come through you. So you never know what you're gonna get.

 Which do you prefer?

Taking Requests

I love synchronicity.  The other day my husband and I were chatting about my artwork. I was telling him that I was thinking of adding some new poses to my collection, but I wasn't sure which poses I wanted to do. I come from a yoga background, with just a little bit of pilates experience. So I don't know the pilates moves as well. I told him, "I wish someone who knows pilates could suggest a pose or two for me."

Later that night, I got an email from a lovely woman who just wrote to say that she really liked my work, and suggested that "Scissors" might be a nice pilates pose to try.  This was completely unsolicited!

When things like this happen, I like to listen. It seems to work out best when you pay attention and give the universe what it wants. So while hubby and baby are out on a bike ride, I'm going to start painting.

I'll post the new painting soon...   Any other requests out there, universe??
