We don't actually need a reminder to breathe. Our lungs continue to function whether we pay attention or not. However, the quality of breath often needs adjustment. If we don't check in from time to time, we continue a pattern of shallow quick breaths that don't fully inflate our lungs and oxygenate our bloodstream. A big deep breath can refresh us, release stress and reduce our heart rate. Being mindful of our breathing helps us stay focused and make better choices. So maybe we just need a reminder to BREATHE WELL.
I put this magnet on my bumper, hoping it would (at the very least) make the person behind me smile. I also have one on my fridge so every time I go there I get a little reminder to relax and take a deep breath.
